New York Learning Connections, LLC presents financial management information that can jump-start future financial success and rebuild finances that have been compromised. This two-session course covers important driving skills, accident prevention and rules of the road. Participants must be 50 years of age or older. Those who complete the course could qualify for a 10% discount on their automobile liability and collision insurance premiums and have up to 4 violation points subtracted from their license. CAPOEIRA FOR ADULTS (Ages 13 & Up)
Capoeira is a Brazilian art form and self-defense with strong aerobic and dance elements. It is a harmony of forces that gives you power, flexibility, endurance and self-discovery. Capoeira balances the mind, body and soul. It is a graceful, exciting art form that teaches you to be alert. The only indigenous martial art of the Americas, Capoeira was developed by African slaves in Brazil. The art keeps its strong traditions and enables you to break through limits, revitalizing you for everyday life. Within each class you will work on flexibility, strength, endurance, capoeira movements, music and tradition. Wear comfortable clothing; bring a towel and water.

Capoeira is an exciting art form and self-defense from Brazil created over 400 years ago as a fight for freedom. Today’s Capoeira keeps its traditional roots as a fighting form but also includes aspects of dance, music, sport, play and community. This program is designed to give children a basic introduction to Capoeira. Students will learn Capoeira movements, history, music and tradition while beginning to understand what Capoeira is, how to "play" Capoeira and to respect and befriend their fellow students. Wear comfortable clothing; bring a towel and water.

This course is required to obtain your New York State driver's license. Anyone attending this class should have knowledge of the driving manual and bring his/her driver's permit and a pen with them. A test is given at the end to evaluate each student' s retention of the information presented during the course. The classroom training completion certificate expires one year from the date of issuance. YOU MUST PREREGISTER FOR THIS COURSE. There will be a $5 replacement fee for any lost valid certificates. PERSONAL WATER CRAFT BOATING SAFETY COURSE
GET A HEAD START ON THE 2007 PERSONAL WATER CRAFT BOATING SEASON. The Empire Safety Council' s Boating Safety Course meets New York State requirements for a Personal Water Craft (PWC) Boating Safety Course. It is intended to provide a comprehensive yet basic knowledge to acquaint you with safe and legal boating practices. The Boating Safety Course is an 8-hour instructor-led workshop which includes a student text-workbook, a new boating safety video and a 50 question multiple choice exam with an answer form. Satisfactory completion (40 correct answers) will earn you an official course completion certificate and may also earn you up to a 15% discount annually on your water craft insurance. It is important to note that Empire' s Boating Safety Course is approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) and meets mandatory education requirements for states that have boater education laws. Course completion is good for life and is recognized by the United States Coast Guard.
