AN INTRODUCTION TO TEXAS HOLD’EM (AGES 21 & OVER)
Poker is an old game realizing a tremendous
rebirth, a popularity so big, so fast, it is almost shocking. And it looks as if
it will not be folding in the near future, but is here to stay. Texas Hold’em
is a quicker, more social game than other versions of poker, and more exciting.
This is a 6-hour course on the basics of Texas Hold’em. Topics include: limit
and no limit; procedures; starting hands; best hands; betting; bluffing;
persona; the importance of position; etc. Also, how to start your own home
games, tournament vs ring play, free internet games, SNG vs MTT, etc. Other
games like Omaha and pot limit will be discussed. Students will get a chance to
play and be critiqued. This course is strictly for fun. We do not encourage
gambling, but encourage learning good play and proper etiquette.

PERSONAL WATER CRAFT BOATING SAFETY COURSE
The Empire Safety Council’s Boating Safety
Course meets New York State requirements for a Personal Water Craft (PWC)
Boating Safety Course. It is intended to provide a comprehensive yet basic
knowledge to acquaint you with safe and legal boating practices. The Boating
Safety Course is an 8-hour instructor-led workshop which includes a student
text-workbook, a new boating safety video and a 50 question multiple choice exam
with an answer form. Satisfactory completion (40 correct answers) will earn you
an official course completion certificate and may also earn you up to a 15%
discount annually on your water craft insurance. It is important to note that
Empire’s Boating Safety Course is approved by the National Association of
State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) and meets mandatory education
requirements for states that have boater education laws. Course completion is
good for life and is recognized by the United States Coast Guard.
